After replacing the vmd.csh and vmd.sh files and running ./configure and
making install I have the same problem "No Match" message.

most likely an incompatibility in the vmd launch script.

please go to the directory where you unpacked the tar file
and replace the versions of the launch script with the ones
attached. re-run ./configure and make install
and let me know if this fixes the problem.
