Hi Axel,

I'm going to follow your advice and use VMD beta5 with InternalTachyon
renderer. When I look at VMD downloads directory I see "AIX6_64 Text-mode"
for AIX. Before I proceed with installation I wonder what does "Text-mode"
mean and if this "Text-mode" might prevent me from using volumetric data
coloring?

as a somewhat cumbersome workaround, you could also try to use
the Render dialog and using the InternalTachyon renderer,
provided you have installed the latest VMD beta5 version.

cheers,
   axel.
