Hi Maria,

Does the vmdrc file have a “after idle” command in it? The default one does, and means that it is applied *after* loading files listed on the command line, when VMD is “idle”. In the past when I’ve needed something applied to files before loading them, I’ve either baked in the file loading into a custom vmdrc and loaded it with the -startup argument, or taken out the after idle section.

I seem unable to get the .vmdrc file loaded if I add the name of the file I need to open as a command line argument. If I just type "vmd", it loads just fine. However, if I type "vmd" the default line representation is loaded. The file is located at my home directory. Just for the purpose of testing, I copied it over to the directory where the file is located but the vmdrc file is still not loaded. What could I be doing wrong?
