Hi,
Using the Linux binary VMD (vmd-1.8.2) crashes when maximized (or
sometimes resized) with
an HP xw8000 w/ RH9 Linux 2.4.20-28.9bigmem + ATI FireGL X1-256p +
fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0
XFree86-4.3.0-2.90.43
XF86Config-4
We see this behavior with two different monitors:
1) a flat screen LCD
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
HorizSync 30.0 - 81.0
VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0
# === OpenGL specific profiles/settings ===
Option "Capabilities" "0x00000000"
# === Video Overlay for the Xv extension ===
Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
# === OpenGL Overlay ===
# Note: When OpenGL Overlay is enabled, Video Overlay
# will be disabled automatically
Option "OpenGLOverlay" "off"
# === Center Mode (Laptops only) ===
Option "CenterMode" "off"
# === Pseudo Color Visuals (8-bit visuals) ===
Option "PseudoColorVisuals" "off"
# === QBS Management ===
Option "Stereo" "off"
Option "StereoSyncEnable" "1"
2) a CRT
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
HorizSync 30 - 140
VertRefresh 50 - 160

Has anyone else run into this?
Or does anyone have a similar setup that does not crash when maximized?
Does anybody have a working XF86Config-4 file for this ATI FireGL X1-256p
card and driver with stereo or not?
Is there a maximum resolution (for VMD)? i.e. would 1600x1200 cause
problems?
thanks,
chris harwell
