Have you run the glxgears demo or any other OpenGL applications
to verify that the compiz mode isn't simply breaking OpenGL rendering
(as it has done many times in the past)?? Please check another OpenGL
application and let us know if this problem only affects VMD, or if it
affects all OpenGL applications.
